Client Personal Information
At Advantage Auto, we have a firm commitment to protecting your
privacy and security as our client. Information that can identify you
(called "personal information" in this policy) is sometimes required for
a business transaction. We do not consider public information found in
directories and listings, or business names, addresses and/or contact
numbers to be personal information.
This document summarizes what personal information we may collect, how
we might use this information and the steps we take to ensure your
personal information is handled appropriately. It also describes other
important topics relating to your privacy.
Our policies and practices are designed to comply with the Personal
Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and
corresponding provincial privacy acts. We have adopted, as company
policy, the ten personal information privacy principles stated in the
Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Model Code for the protection of

Advantage Auto is responsible for all personal information under its
control, including any personal information that is transferred to third
parties for processing, storage or other purposes.
We have employees who are specifically responsible for our compliance
with the principles of the CSA Code. Their responsibilities include
making sure third parties processing personal information on our behalf
provide a comparable level of protection.
Identifying Purposes
Advantage Auto will identify and document the purpose(s) for which

the time of collection.
The purpose(s) will be limited to those that are related to our business

Web Site - What Information We Collect and
How It is Used
Personal Information - We do not automatically gather any
personal information from you, such as your name, address, phone number,
or e-mail address. This information is only obtained if you provide it
voluntarily, usually through contacting us via e-mail.
If you decide not to provide us with personal information, no material
consequences will result, although you may be unable to participate in
certain promotions, receive product information, or use portions of our
Web site that require personalized information or applications.
Non-Personal Information - We use
software that receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of
the computer that has contacted our Web site. We make no attempt to link
these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site.
Cookies - A cookie is a small data
file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit
them. A cookie file may contain information such as user ID that the
site uses to track the pages you have visited, but the only personal

cannot read data from your hard drive or read cookie files created by

track user traffic patterns. Advantage Auto does not correlate this
